Research assistant in Martinique

The research theme is: Modelling pesticide emissions in LCA of crop products in tropical regions.

The scientific question is: how can all pesticide fractions to the environment and to harvested crop components after field application in a tropical context be estimated in an operational and reliable way, taking into account practice, soil and climate conditions? This question arises from the need for a robust evaluation tool for the environmental assessment through LCA of crops in tropical conditions including toxicity impacts due to pesticide applications. This work will be done at CAEC in Martinique.

Thesis supervision is shared between Claudine Basset-Mens and Peter Fantke (research professor at DTU, Technical University of Denmark) and supported by Pauline Feschet (GECO), Charles Mottes (HortSys) and by a thesis committee.
